The general objective of the study was to examine proposed establishment of cattle colonies and perceived threat to human security in Nigeria. Specifically, the study was to ascertain if the proposed establishment of cattle colonies will threaten human security in Nigeria. The study was a survey research. Accidental sampling technique was used. The study adopted a quantitative and qualitative method of analysis. Primary and secondary sources of data were employed. The theoretical framework was group threat theory. The study revealed that establishment of cattle colonies will significantly threaten lives, land, child’s education, availability and supply of food, healthcare among others. Based on the findings, the study recommends that violent killing should attract life imprisonment, cattle treated of diseases to avoid threat to heath care, production should be done in areas where a particular religion is accepted or dominant and cattle slaughtered and moved in cold room to wholesalers and consumers.
